Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the Sandra Chapman Centre, a Haematology/Oncology Day Unit that operates Monday to Friday, 0800‑1800.
Shift pattern will be discussed at interview.
The role involves the safe delivery and planning of systemic anti‑cancer therapy and supportive care for patients with malignant and non‑malignant haematology and oncology disorders.
Responsibilities
- Assessment of patients prior to systemic anti‑cancer treatment (SACT).
- Administration of SACT.
- General IV drug administration, cannulation and central venous device (CVAD) care.
- Provision of acute haematology and oncology care.
- Administration of blood products.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary team (MDT) members.
- Contribute to the management of daily operational services.
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Nurse with a genuine desire to work in haematology and oncology specialties.
- Desirable skills: venepuncture, cannulation, care of CVADs and competency in intravenous drug administration.
- Commitment to undertake training in the administration of SACT.
- Strong commitment to professional development and evidence‑based practice.
