Locum Consultant in the department of Leeds Clinical Genomics Service – 6‑month full‑time (10 P A) post located at Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultant cover for Leeds and regional paediatric and adult general genetics clinics.
- Deliver specialist activity in prenatal clinics, cancer clinics and inherited cardiac conditions.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary teams in oncology, fetal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology and musculoskeletal services.
- Support research, innovation, service development and transformation projects.
- Educate and train medical students, doctors and other health professionals.
- Prepare an 8‑minute presentation on “The changing role of the Clinical Geneticist: where will we be in 10 years?” for shortlisted candidates.
Qualifications
- MRCP or MRCPCH (or equivalent) with established skills in Clinical Genetics.
- Admitted to the Specialist Register at interview or eligible to be admitted before post start date.
- Experience in general and specialist genetics services, and in providing consultant cover for paediatric and adult clinics.
- Experience in delivering a variety of genetics clinics and working with multidisciplinary teams.
