Job DescriptionJob Title: Customer Solutions Design SpecialistReq ID: 59084Job Function: Architecture Solution and DesignPosting Start Date: 22/05/2026Posting End Date: 05/06/2026Division: UK BusinessJob Location: GBR Bristol – Assembly, GBR Chippenham Methuen Park House, GBR-Manchester-New BaileyAdvertised Salary: Competitive Salary + Market Leading BenefitsPlease note – you will be required to have (or gain) Security Clearance for this role – please only apply if you are eligible (5 years MINIMUM UK residency)About the roleJoin BT’s Defence & Defence Industry Partners team as a Customer Solutions Design Specialist, where your work will help design and deliver secure solutions that support critical Defence programmes and contribute to keeping the UK safe and secure.Working within an existing team that delivers complex, bespoke and secure end to end network solutions and working with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto and HPE Aruba amongst others.This is a customer facing and customer focussed role, and you must be able to lead the technical direction of projects and build a strong, trusted relationship with them and senior stakeholders.You’ll work closely with other teams such as our Solution Architects, Operations and Security teams and be a Subject matter expert enabling the successful delivery of complex, bespoke solutions.What you’ll be doingProduce High quality, complex, multi vendor High level and Low level Design from concept to deliveryCollaborating with our customer to turn their business needs into practical solutions.Technically Leading complex, bespoke projectsBuilding strong relationships with customer and stakeholdersCreation of statements of work, bills of materialsAs a subject matter expert sharing your Knowledge by coaching and mentoring colleagues and operational support teamsProvide day-to-day technical leadership to TDAs and design teamsDrive design assurance through peer reviews and technical governance checkpointsPlan and cost resource requirements against deliverablesEssential Skills / Experience5+ years experience in Network Design within Enterprise, service provider or public sectorProduction of High level and low level designs in line with customer requirements, ability to understand business requirements and turn them into practical solution designsKnowledge and experience of Cisco and HPE Aruba WAN/LAN and SDWANHPE Aruba Certified to Associate level or Cisco certified to CCNP levelStrong stakeholder management skillsHold or be eligible to hold Security Clearance (not dual passport holder)Desirable Skills / ExperienceKnowledge of Riverbed, Packeteer, Palo Alto NGFW and MPLSExperience working in defence or secure environmentsOur PackageTailored benefits make a real difference.
