The Senior New Product Development Coordinator is the engine behind seamless, commercially intelligent product creation at De Beers London. Working across Product Development, Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain, the role safeguards product data, strengthens supplier partnerships, and enables confident, insight‑led decision‑making.
Main Responsibilities
- Own the full costing process for luxury jewellery, ensuring accuracy across diamonds, precious metals, labour, and supplier pricing.
- Maintain pricing governance and monitor cost variances to support strong margin management.
- Provide clear financial reporting and support budget visibility across couture, collections, and bespoke development.
- Act as the custodian of product data across SAP, Firebrand, and PD systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency at every stage.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Product Approval Forms and Bills of Materials, ensuring robust version control.
- Champion best‑practice system usage, supporting prototype booking‑in, PO updates, stock checks, and reconciliation activities.
- Build strong working relationships with luxury jewellery suppliers, supporting transparency, capability uplift, and reliable delivery.
- Partner with the Diamond Centre to maintain up‑to‑date diamond cost data and ensure alignment with prototype pricing.
- Maintain and improve costing tools and models to support accurate, consistent quoting.
- Develop and maintain KPIs that track cost accuracy, development timelines, and margin impact.
- Translate data into clear insights that support decision‑making across Product Development and cross‑functional teams.
- Analyse cost and timing variances to support sourcing decisions and continuous improvement.
- Document, refine, and optimise PD processes to support efficient, scalable ways of working.
- Use Asana, Power BI, and digital tools to track development stages, timelines, and costs.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, workflows, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Coordinate end‑to‑end Product Development timelines, ensuring clear stage‑gate governance, readiness and on‑time progression through all approval milestones.
- Own novelties project governance, including gate review preparation, NPD agenda setting and action tracking and decision logging to ensure accountability and delivery against commitments.
- Drive deadline adherence across cross‑functional teams by proactively tracking risks, dependencies and critical paths, escalating issues where required and pushing through urgent decisions when required.
- Standardise and optimise project workflows, working templates (Excel and Asana), and ways of working to improve stability, consistency, visibility and speed of execution across development projects.
- Maintain accurate project plans and status reporting within Asana and related tools; providing clear visibility of progress, blockers and delivery risk and impacts to stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Experienced in product development, costing, commercial operations, or enterprise systems, ideally within luxury, jewellery, or complex manufacturing.
- Experience in luxury jewellery, craftsmanship standards, or high‑value product environments is desirable; willingness to deepen expertise in precious materials and manufacturing is essential.
- Confident working with ERP systems (SAP highly desirable), BOM structures, and product data management.
- Experienced in planning and scheduling within a product development or manufacturing environment.
- Skilled in project management, with the ability to coordinate timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables effectively.
- Strong financial literacy, including budgeting, variance analysis, and pricing governance.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel; familiarity with Power BI, Asana, or similar tools is an advantage.
- Analytical and comfortable handling complex data sets, with the ability to translate information into clear insights.
- Familiar with DFM (Design for Manufacture) principles and able to support manufacturability considerations during development.
- Understanding of VSM (Value Stream Mapping) and process‑flow optimisation is advantageous.
- Formal project management training such as Prince2 is beneficial.
- Highly accurate with strong systems capability and meticulous attention to detail.
- Organised and structured, able to manage competing priorities and maintain high standards under pressure.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to simplify complexity and collaborate effectively across teams and with suppliers.
- Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously in a fast‑paced, matrix environment.
