Location: Near Coalburn (South Lanarkshire, Scotland)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm.

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum basic salary DOE + Works Van + Overtime (Saturday mornings available at 1.5X rate)

Are you a passionate and skilled Car Mechanic looking to join a family‑owned garage where you can make a real impact? Our client is currently seeking an experienced Car Mechanic / MOT Tester to become a key player in their highly reputable garage, carrying out vehicle repairs alongside MOT testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests on vehicles to identify issues.
• Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire changes, and brake inspections.
• Repair and replace worn or broken parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors.
• Ensure vehicles are safe and in excellent operating condition.
• Keep detailed records of all work performed.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle condition and necessary repairs.
• Conduct MOTs (full training and certification will be provided if this isn’t something you have done previously).

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Car Mechanic is essential.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Related qualifications or certificates would be preferred.
