Tynestack Recruitment are currently supporting a well-established residential childcare provider in the appointment of a Registered Children’s Home Manager for an existing Good rated children’s home based in Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step into registration within a therapeutic, relationship-led organisation that genuinely prioritises outcomes for young people over occupancy driven practices.

The home supports up to 4 young people aged between 10-18 years with EBD and complex needs within a highly supportive and nurturing environment. All young people are staffed on a 1:1 basis to ensure consistent support, stability and positive outcomes.

The organisation has a strong therapeutic ethos and benefits from Psychologist support available to both young people and the staff team.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance are consistently maintained.

You will lead and develop the existing staff team while promoting a positive, trauma-informed and relationship-based culture throughout the home.

Responsibilities

  • Overall operational management of the children’s home
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards
  • Leading, supporting and developing the staff team
  • Safeguarding and care planning responsibilities
  • Promoting positive outcomes for young people
  • Maintaining a therapeutic and nurturing home environment
  • Building positive relationships with families and professionals
  • Driving continuous improvement across the service

Requirements

  • Experience within residential children’s homes
  • Leadership or management experience within childcare settings
  • Strong safeguarding and Ofsted knowledge
  • Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People
  • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification preferred or willingness to complete
  • Experience supporting young people with EBD, trauma and complex behaviours
