Additional subspecialty interests are also welcomed. This post will be based at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHPNT), primarily Derriford Hospital, commencing at a time of significant developments within the trust.
Main duties of the job
Derriford Hospital is a major trauma centre hosting regional specialist units such as renal transplant, complex urology, andrology, hepatobiliary surgery, hepatology, paediatrics, cardiothoracics and neurosurgery. The successful candidate will work alongside the existing three consultants supporting the service. All radiology consultants are actively involved in teaching for the Peninsula Radiology Training Programme, with opportunities for teaching with Peninsula Medical School.
The post‑holder will:
- Share an office with other consultant colleagues and a secretary with the current team of radiologists.
- Be provided with a PC and PACS workstation, with the option to locate one off‑site to facilitate home working.
- Comply with all Trust policies, notably in relation to job planning, appraisal and leave taking in line with departmental and Trust objectives.
- Share the on‑call commitment equally with the existing consultants and participate in a 7‑day working pattern supporting general inpatient services across 7 days.
