Role: Children Law Director Panel Member London Salary: £70k p.a

Leading law firm recruiting a dedicated Children Solicitor Director for a permanent position.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report directly to and collaborate with the Board to ensure performance targets are met
  • Responsible for all aspects of Children Law work including providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Manage and supervise Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers to handle appropriate caseload types and complexities
  • Assist with delivery of appropriate training and development in the department
  • Handle a variety of Children work including divorce, financial disputes and remedies, international child abduction/adoption, injunctions / non molestation orders, and provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Maintain a professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and interest in business development and marketing to supplement the substantial work volumes brought in by the firm

Key Skills Required

  • 3 Years+ PQE
  • Registered with the Law Society; Children Panel Membership desirable
  • Valid Practicing Certificate at the time of applying
  • Strong management skills
  • Committed team player able to approach team concerns fairly, foster a culture of positive change and encourage cross-referrals
  • Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators
  • Professional with a pro-active approach; excellent client care skills and ability to deal with vulnerable clients and resolve complex practicalities involved in Child Care issues
  • Excellent networking and communication skills with ability to market the firm and generate new business
  • Working knowledge of publicly funded Child Care work and ability to service privately funded cases
  • Extensive experience in all Child Care work and some adoption expertise
  • Advocacy experience an advantage
  • Excellent IT skills – familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management
