THE ROLE
This is a rarely available opportunity to take up the role of NPCC Operations Manager based within the NCA Intelligence Collection department. The post is a highly sensitive, interesting, and dynamic role dealing at the forefront of management of risk, and ensuring vital intelligence is correctly collected, assessed, and disseminated to support Serious and Organised Crime operations undertaken via the Sensitive Intelligence Network. The role is team‑lead of police staff and officers providing Intelligence collection services to police operations across England and Wales.
PERSONAL QUALITIES & ATTRIBUTES
- Experience in the management of intelligence and/or a sound operational background in SOC work.
- Sound knowledge of applications linked to intelligence and authority levels.
- Background in partnership working.
- Proven leader with good communication skills.
- IPP qualified or able to achieve qualification within 12 months (Intelligence Manager).
- Experienced Product Handler for Targeted Intercept material or experienced in issues relating to TI and briefed by the NCA/SIU regarding S.57 IPA safeguarding measures.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00. One week on‑call covering weekend (Saturday & Sunday) – currently 1 in 6 working weekends. An allowance for any on‑call will be paid.
VETTING
Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development Vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. They must have resided continuously in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years, 2 of which must have been the immediately preceding years from the point of application. All internal and external applicants must have successfully completed their probationary period.
