Senior EIAR Project Manager
Overview:
An established multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Environment & Planning team. This leadership role involves managing complex environmental and planning projects, ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, client satisfaction, and effective team leadership. The position is available on a hybrid basis across multiple locations in Ireland.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will oversee the technical, financial, and operational delivery of projects within the Environment & Planning sector. Responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, coordinating environmental assessments, and ensuring high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental & Planning Leadership
- Lead the full EIA process, including preparation and delivery of EIARs/PECRs and associated environmental documentation.
- Provide environmental guidance to ensure compliance with planning regulations and environmental requirements.
- Monitor developments in planning and environmental legislation and policy.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with clients, project teams, subcontractors, regulators, stakeholders, and the public.
- Maintain effective communication with senior leadership and operational teams.
- Project & Resource Management
- Manage project planning, scheduling, resourcing, and team coordination.
- Ensure compliance with legal and Health & Safety obligations.
- Coordinate risk assessments for site visits.
Financial & Quality Management
- Manage project cash flow, invoicing forecasts, and delivery milestones.
- Ensure work complies with internal quality, environmental, and health & safety systems.
- Prepare project briefs, pricing schedules, and client documentation.
- Monitor project scope changes and communicate them proactively.
Team Development
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level project staff.
- Encourage professional development and progression toward Chartership.
Candidate Profile:
Essential
- Level 8 Honours Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years' experience leading EIAR preparation for large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams on EIA projects.
- Strong knowledge of the Irish EIA process, planning policy, and legislation.
Desirable
- Level 9 postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with renewable energy and/or Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) projects.
- Technical expertise in a relevant environmental discipline.
- Chartered membership with a recognised environmental professional organisation.
