Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager in Cision’s New Business (Hunter) team, you will drive high‑value, net‑new revenue across the Mediterranean mid‑markets, focusing on selling the PR Newswire suite of products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and drive new business acquisition across the Mediterranean mid‑markets, selling the PR Newswire suite of products.
  • Generate pipeline through disciplined outbound activity, including cold calling, LinkedIn, and tools such as Cognism.
  • Apply MEDDICC rigorously to qualify opportunities, ensuring clarity around metrics.
  • Position PR Newswire’s value proposition against clearly defined business outcomes and success metrics.
  • Lead complex, consultative sales conversations with senior stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Deliver high‑impact online and in‑person product demonstrations tailored to customer objectives.
  • Build and maintain a high‑quality pipeline with strong forecast accuracy.
  • Consistently achieve activity KPIs and revenue targets in line with senior‑level expectations.
  • Maintain structured, insight‑led engagement with prospects throughout the buyer’s journey.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and detailed CRM accuracy within Salesforce, aligned to MEDDICC standards.
  • Provide detailed reporting on pipeline accuracy, forecast, wins/losses, competitive positioning and market trends.
  • Act as an ambassador for Cision and PR Newswire at client meetings and relevant industry events.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, including data protection, confidentiality, diversity and equal opportunities.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of exceeding new business targets in a B2B SaaS or platform‑based sales environment.
  • Significant experience in senior‑level new business development and complex deal execution.
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of MEDDICC sales methodology.
  • Experience selling consultative, high‑value solutions to mid‑market or enterprise organisations.
  • Ability to engage, influence and negotiate with C‑suite and senior decision makers.
  • Strong commercial acumen and data‑driven decision‑making capability.
  • Expertise in prospecting, qualification and pipeline management.
  • Experience or strong domain knowledge within PR, communications, marketing or media.
  • In‑depth understanding of the Spanish Mediterranean business landscape.
  • Highly organised, self‑directed, and resilient, with excellent time‑management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a high‑pressure, target‑driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to CRM discipline.
  • Willingness to travel within the market on a quarterly basis.
  • Experience selling into Southern European markets, particularly Spain and Italy, would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Spanish proficiency desirable.
