Overview
Our Traffic Engineering Teams work across the UK&I, handling projects from concept through design and implementation. Graduates gain experience at every stage of a project lifecycle, working alongside urban designers and other construction professionals to deliver sustainable, cost‑effective solutions for local and national authorities. Recent projects include cycle superhighways, new tram extensions, pedestrianisation schemes, bypasses and multimodal corridors in Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing designs from concept to detail, using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LINSIG, TRANSYT and VISSIM.
- Attend meetings and workshops with clients and other design professionals.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
- Progress to manage projects from inception through to completion, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Apply BIM modelling programmes to support project delivery.
Qualifications
- BEng in Civil Engineering, General Engineering or BA/BSc Geography with a 2:1 (or equivalent) or above.
- MEng in Civil Engineering or General Engineering with a 2:1 (or equivalent) or above, or MA/MSc Geography (advantage).
- And/or MSc in Transport Planning.
- Master’s degree in Mathematics.
- Enthusiastic, hard‑working, technically proficient, ambitious and with a strong drive.
- Basic computer skills on Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.
- Good report‑writing skills are beneficial.
- Ability to structure and prioritise work through effective teamwork and independent initiative.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
