About the Role
Our client was founded in 1984 and is dedicated to providing high‑quality, modern actor training rooted in British and European classical theatre traditions. They have a rich history of alumni support and are now hiring a Head of Development.
The Head of Development, reporting to the Managing Director, will develop and own the fundraising strategy, including targets. The role will involve communicating effectively with donors, staff, trustees and other stakeholders to create a compelling fundraising plan that includes appeals and major donor giving.
Responsibilities
- Lead the fundraising strategy and day‑to‑day operations to sustainably grow and strengthen the organisation’s fundraising activity.
- Set and achieve fundraising targets, including appeals and major donor giving.
- Communicate effectively with donors, staff, trustees, and stakeholders to develop and maintain a compelling fundraising plan.
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing donors and prospects.
- Work independently within a small team, driving momentum and ambition to shape new fundraising strategy.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a development function, including tactical philanthropy fundraising and setting strategy.
- Strong relationship‑management skills and a proven track record in fundraising.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to pace and drive momentum toward goals.
- Knowledge of UK fundraising regulations and best practices is desirable.
