CONTRACT TYPE: 12 Month Fixed-term Contract, Full-time

DEPARTMENT: BBC Studios Group Finance

LOCATION: London Television Centre – Hybrid

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £110,000 – £115,000 plus £5441 London Weighting depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience, plus an on-target bonus of 25% depending on company performance. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Purpose of the Role

Lead critical global tax initiatives for BBC Studios on a 12-month FTC, driving transfer pricing and R&D tax credit programmes to completion while providing interim leadership for international tax. This role ensures robust compliance, supports commercial growth and M&A activity, and strengthens tax operations across a complex, international business.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

  • Lead across the business, managing senior stakeholders under tight timelines while role‑modeling values and influencing at executive level.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external advisors, authorities and partners, representing BBC Studios professionally.
  • Develop and support the wider Finance function, including line management of one direct report and broader team coaching and development.
  • Drive completion of a global transfer pricing review, including updating arrangements, ensuring compliance, and overseeing reporting and filings.
  • Identify tax efficiencies and lead R&D tax credit activity, including claims, new opportunities and implementation of improved processes and SOPs.
  • Take accountability for global tax compliance, corporation tax filings, reporting, and managing tax authority enquiries and cross‑border disputes.
  • Support strategic growth through tax leadership on M&A, acquisitions, integrations and broader commercial decision‑making including new markets and structures.

Essential Criteria

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Professional accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, as appropriate.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of global tax requirements, transfer pricing and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience of working with financial accounting systems and the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex financial data to a range of audiences.
  • Experience of operating at a senior level and / or partnering with external senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of leading, driving and delivering change in complex organisations and finance teams.
  • Experience of devising new ways of working to streamline operations.

Desired But Not Required

  • Good knowledge of the media sector and relevant in‑depth knowledge of current industry trends, an understanding of the end‑to‑end production and distribution cycle.
  • Prior experience of holding senior Finance leadership positions in the media sector (or equivalent).
  • Experience of M&A transactions and effectively integrating new businesses into a wider corporate structure.
  • Knowledge of and experience in digital / social media content production, distribution and or brand extension.
