Apply for the Senior Data Migration Engineer (Retail)
Location: London
Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Engineer to join a major ERP transformation programme, with a strong emphasis on candidates who have proven retail sector experience. This role is critical to the successful migration of complex retail and business data from legacy systems into a new ERP platform, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and minimal disruption to business operations. Candidates without hands-on retail experience will not be considered, as understanding retail data structures, transactional data, stock management, customer data, and retail business processes is essential to the success of the project.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including SSIS and SSRS, alongside solid experience with ETL development and Azure Cloud technologies. You will be responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end data migration solutions, extracting and transforming large and complex datasets, validating migrated data, and supporting the implementation of a new ERP system within a fast-paced retail environment.

You will work closely with stakeholders, ERP implementation teams, and technical specialists to define migration strategies, analyse and cleanse source data, troubleshoot migration issues, and ensure all retail and operational data is migrated accurately and efficiently. Strong SQL scripting, analytical thinking, and data validation skills are essential, along with previous experience delivering ERP data migration projects specifically within the retail industry.

Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, or ERP platforms such as Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite would be highly advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile transformation programme and play a key role in shaping the future data landscape of a retail-focused organisation.
