Senior Database Engineer

I am partnered with a leading technology driven, quantitative hedge fund who are seeking an experience Database Engineer with ClickHouse expertise.

You would be responsible for managing and optimising large-scale database systems supporting research and trading activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ClickHouse clusters across distributed environments
• Configure replication, sharding, and coordination services (Keeper/ZooKeeper)
• Handle data lifecycle: partitioning, TTL, and merge operations
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise query performance
• Manage server resources: CPU, memory, and disk
• Design high availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Enforce access controls and security policies
• Support streaming and batch data ingestion pipelines

Requirements

• 5+ years as a DBA in production environments
• Hands-on experience with distributed/clustered ClickHouse
• Confident tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting at scale, with a solid understanding of HA and disaster recovery
• Strong SQL, Linux/UNIX, familiarity with streaming pipelines like Kafka, and exposure to PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
