Job Description

We are looking for Associate Directors who have extensive experience and proven track record in the engineering and construction sector to join our Central and Local Government Real Estate team. You will lead and manage large-scale and complex projects that deliver value to the public sector, using best practices and standards. You will also work with market leading clients and lead on strategic commissions and high‑profile projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project strategies, plans and budgets
  • Lead residential‑led or mixed‑use projects at the enabling stage (e.g., highways, utilities, enabling works, remediation, public realm, bridges, utility diversions or upgrades, managing S106 or S278 obligations)
  • Establish and maintain effective processes and systems for the project
  • Monitor and report on project progress and performance indicators
  • Manage and mitigate risks and issues
  • Prepare and deliver written project communication materials
  • Prepare and present formal project progress reports
  • Coordinate the client, contractors and designers
  • Attend and chair meetings and draft minutes

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in construction, real estate, planning or engineering
  • Full time availability, with flexible working opportunities and home working
  • Ability to travel London, Home Counties and South East
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation and written)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to solve problems and think strategically
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including clients, influential parties, contractors and end‑users
  • Knowledge of CDM/site health and safety
  • Engineering qualification/background, preferably civil, structural or mechanical/electrical
  • Comprehensive understanding of the development lifecycle (business case, design, consents, procurement, delivery, handover and management)
  • Direct experience of on‑site construction
  • Experience in residential‑led or mixed‑use projects at the enabling stage (e.g., highways, utilities, enabling works, remediation, public realm, bridges, utility diversions or upgrades, managing S106 or S278 obligations)
