Reporting directly into the Managing Partner and spearheading the finance function, the Chief Financial Officer’s main duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead the development and execution of short term and long term financial strategy aligned with firm objectives
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on financial implications of business decisions
- Oversee all finance, accounting, billing, collections, payroll and treasury functions
- Establish and monitor profitability targets at the firm and practice group level
- Analyze practice performance, pricing structures, billing rates and realization
- Prepare and present detailed financial reporting to executive and shareholder leadership
- Manage annual budgeting, forecasting and long range financial planning processes
- Monitor overhead costs including staffing, real estate and technology to identify inefficiencies
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital and shareholder distributions
- Manage banking relationships, lines of credit and debt structures
- Ensure compliance with financial covenants and internal controls
- Support analysis related to lateral partner hires and group acquisitions
- Provide guidance on equity structures, capital deployment and growth investments
