Operations are critical to everything we do. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth customer delivery, operational visibility, and supply chain execution across complex international markets throughout EMEA.
The Role
Reporting into the Operations team, you’ll lead the day-to-day customer supply chain function across multiple international markets, with a particular focus on Africa & Middle East.
This is far more than a traditional customer service role.
You’ll oversee international order management, export coordination, customer communication, customs documentation, and operational issue resolution across both raw materials and finished goods.
A major part of the role will involve ensuring documentation accuracy across international shipments, coordinating closely with logistics, planning, commercial, and manufacturing teams to ensure products move efficiently across global markets.
You’ll also play a key role in improving operational visibility, driving process consistency, and supporting a more agile and collaborative customer supply chain operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing end-to-end customer order operations across EMEA markets
- Coordinating international shipments and export activity across multiple regions
- Managing critical export documentation including
- Bills of Lading
- Packing Lists
- Commercial Invoices
- Health Certificates
- Certificates of Origin
- Certificates of Analysis
- Overseeing order-to-cash transactional accuracy and operational execution
- Supporting customers across Africa & Middle East with order updates, lead times, and shipment coordination
- Working closely with Supply Planning, Logistics, Commercial, Finance, and Manufacturing teams
- Managing service risks, escalations, shortages, and delivery challenges proactively
- Driving OTIF and customer service performance improvements
- Supporting process standardisation and operational improvement initiatives
- Maintaining strong SAP transactional accuracy and reporting visibility
- Leading and supporting a small customer operations team
- Ensuring operational compliance and documentation accuracy across international shipments
What We’re Looking For
- Experience within customer supply chain, export operations, logistics, international customer service, or customer operations
- Strong hands-on experience with export documentation and international shipping processes
- Experience managing complex international order flows
- FMCG, food ingredients, food manufacturing, beverage, or B2B ingredients industry experience highly advantageous
- Good understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations and cross-functional collaboration
- Exposure to short shelf-life or time-sensitive product environments advantageous
- Strong SAP experience (ECC and/or S/4 HANA preferred)
- Strong Excel capability and confidence working with operational data
- Experience managing OTIF, service performance, and operational KPIs
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable operating within fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments
- Ability to manage operational pressure, changing priorities, and customer escalations calmly
- Previous team leadership or coordinator management experience advantageous
- Someone proactive, organised, detail-focused, and solutions-driven
- A collaborative operator who enjoys building relationships and improving ways of working
