Job Description:

We’re looking for a proactive and analytical individual to join a busy team managing waste data and reporting in the Coventry City Area. This is a temporary flexible part-time role (30 hours across 4 or 5 days) running until the 16th June, with potential for extension. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with complex datasets, solving problems, and improving processes in a role where you can make a real impact.

You’ll be responsible for analysing and managing data from multiple waste streams and disposal sites, helping the team understand performance, forecast volumes, and support financial processes.

Key responsibilities of the Data Officer Role Includes:

  • Collating and analysing large datasets from various waste sources
  • Producing reports and forecasts on waste volumes and trends
  • Reviewing and improving existing spreadsheets and processes
  • Investigating data to understand how current reporting is produced
  • Supporting recharging processes for waste services
  • Identifying inconsistencies, improving data accuracy, and streamlining reporting

To be considered for the Data Officer role:

  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (essential)
  • A logical and methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Confidence working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly understand and “unpick” existing processes
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to hit the ground running
