Freelance Senior Engineer – High-Rise RC Frame | Birmingham

We’re currently looking to engage an experienced Freelance Senior Engineer for a major Build-to-Rent (BTR) high‑rise scheme in Birmingham.

This is a flagship project with a programme of circa 3 years, offering long‑term continuity on a technically challenging reinforced concrete frame development.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of the structure and associated packages.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and coordinating site engineering teams
• Managing and supporting subcontractors on site
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with design, programme, and quality standards
• Driving QA processes and technical compliance
• Assisting with planning, sequencing, and problem-solving on a complex high‑rise build

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Engineer on high‑rise RC frame projects
• Strong understanding of concrete frame construction and sequencing
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple subcontractors
• Solid technical and QA background
• Confident working closely with Project Managers and site leadership teams
