Location & Working arrangement

Farringdon, Personal Contract. Full time. Hybrid/Office based 2-3 days per week, ability to work from one of our main offices throughout South and Southeast England, London or Scotland offices with some UK travel.

About the role

Portfolio Benefits Lead is responsible for defining, planning, tracking, and reporting benefits across a major transformation portfolio within the Operations directorate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a consistent benefits management framework across the Operations transformation portfolio that links to and supports the high-level enterprise benefits framework.
  • Establish governance, standards, and tools for benefits identification, tracking, and reporting.
  • Work with portfolio, project and operational teams to identify, quantify, and baseline benefits.
  • Ensure benefits are clearly linked to business cases and strategic objectives.
  • Support the development of benefits maps and profiles clearly demonstrating the levers and enablers that will lead to benefit realisation.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Transformation Office and Project Delivery functions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to programme directors and business owners on value realisation.
  • Facilitate workshops to drive accountability for benefits ownership.
  • Ensure benefits are embedded and sustained post-implementation.
  • Support business readiness and transition to operations to secure benefit outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of value-driven delivery across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in benefits management within large‑scale transformation programmes or portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of programme/project management methodologies (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, Agile).
  • Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial modelling, cost‑benefit analysis, and value tracking.
  • Strong analytical, data interpretation and data visualisation skills.

Preferred (but not essential)

  • Experience working in regulated environments (ideally utilities, energy, water, or infrastructure).
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., MSP, APM, CIMA, ACA).
