Job Description:

Bristol – our Test & Evaluation team is looking for a V&V Systems Engineering Specialist.

Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience.

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification.

Security Clearance required: British or Dual UK with British citizenship. Successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define test strategy, requirements and plans; scope front-end activities with customers to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Oversee or support qualification and acceptance of test equipment, ensuring robustness, compliance and accuracy.
  • Analyse test data, identify performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot validation issues.
  • Produce technical documentation (test procedures, reports) and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Support departmental strategy and assist the department head with recruitment.
  • Influence senior stakeholders on technical direction and provide technical leadership for test-related issues across design projects.
  • Support new product bid activities and document/deploy best practice across departments and projects.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge of electronics or mechanical systems; degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience operating general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators).
  • Knowledge of safety-critical standards in aerospace, defence, or rail sectors.
  • Effective communication skills; able to work with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with customers for system acceptance.
  • Experience with DOORS & DOORS NG, SysML and Rhapsody desirable; training provided where needed.
  • Experience in Design for Test (DfT) and testability.
  • RF / Microwave systems knowledge desirable.
