Engineering Manager (Infra/Edge)
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager (Infra/Edge) to join our London team. In this role, you’ll lead the team responsible for the production‑grade infrastructure that underpins three companies globally, ensuring the performance and security of our global traffic.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead Technical Strategy: Own and evolve the company’s Edge posture, including CDNs (Cloudflare/Fastly), traffic management, and network security patterns such as WAFs and DDoS mitigation.
- Drive Delivery: Set priorities and break complex projects into iterative deliverables, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time execution for high‑blast‑radius systems.
- Mentor & Develop: Line‑manage and coach engineers across levels, cultivating a culture of psychological safety, high trust, and structured career progression.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Set standards for SLOs/SLAs, monitoring, and low‑noise alerting while leading incident responses and long‑term preventative work.
- Collaborate Globally: Partner with staff engineers and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt to align on architecture, reliability standards, and global traffic routing.
What You’ll Need to Thrive
- Technical Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing high‑performing engineering teams delivering complex production systems.
- Edge & Networking Expertise: Hands‑on experience with CDNs, proxies (Nginx/HAProxy), DNS (Route53), and VPC routing.
- Distributed Systems: A strong foundation in infrastructure engineering, cloud networking, and low‑latency, high‑throughput services.
- Operational Rigour: Significant experience driving operational excellence through SLOs, on‑call rotations, and post‑incident reviews.
- Architectural Credibility: Ability to review complex designs (TDDs) and PRs, ensuring they meet rigorous global standards.
