Interim Finance Director

Reporting to: CEO / Board

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a high-growth, multi-channel business to appoint an experienced Interim Finance Director. Operating across retail, wholesale, e-commerce, and international markets, the company is entering an exciting phase of expansion and requires strong financial leadership to support its continued growth.

This is a key leadership role, working closely with the CEO and Board to drive financial strategy, improve performance, and ensure robust operational and financial controls. The position also carries oversight of HR and IT functions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Lead financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Provide clear financial insight to support commercial decision-making across multiple revenue channels.
• Partner with the CEO and Board on overall business strategy and growth initiatives.

Financial Operations & Control

• Oversee all core finance functions including accounting, tax, treasury, and reporting.
• Ensure strong financial controls and governance across UK and international entities.
• Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Commercial Finance

• Analyse performance across retail, wholesale, and digital channels.
• Support pricing, margin optimisation, and profitability initiatives.
• Provide financial input into key commercial agreements with major customers and partners.

International & Group Oversight

• Manage financial operations across international subsidiaries and import/export activities.
• Oversee FX exposure, tax efficiency, and global cash flow management.
• Lead consolidation and intercompany accounting processes.
• Lead and develop the finance function.
• Oversee HR and IT functions.
• Work cross-functionally with key departments including Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain.

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience operating at Finance Director or Head of Finance level.
• Background in multi-channel or multi-site environments (retail, wholesale, and/or e-commerce).
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and board-level decisions.
• Experience managing international operations and multiple entities.
• Expertise in cash flow, working capital, and scaling businesses.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Hands‑on and adaptable, with experience working in fast‑paced environments.
