An established not-for-profit organisation located on the outskirts of Havant, Hampshire is seeking an experienced Interim Director of HR to lead their HR function on a part-time basis.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape HR strategy in a dynamic environment, where innovative approaches and staff wellbeing are key. What will the Interim Director of HR role involve?

  • Providing strategic leadership to the executive team and wider HR function, focusing on recruitment, retention, talent management, and absence reduction
  • Leading initiatives to enhance staff wellbeing and reduce associated costs, including sickness absence
  • Supporting organisational change and improvement projects aligned with long-term goals
  • Collaborating closely with trustees and senior leaders to formalise HR policies and ensure compliance
  • Managing ongoing HR projects, ensuring smooth implementation within a fast-paced environment

Suitable candidate for the Interim Director of HR vacancy:

  • Demonstrates significant experience within not-for-profit or public sector settings, with a track record of leading HR functions at a senior level
  • Skilled in talent management, recruitment improvements, and staff retention strategies
  • Confident working independently, with excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Possesses strong knowledge of HR legislation, best practice, and change management in complex settings
  • Adaptable and proactive, able to start quickly and deliver against short-term project deadlines
