Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our facilities team working on the Metropolitan Police South East London FM contract based at Sutton police station, covering Bromley and Lewisham police stations.
What will you deliver?
- Reporting to the M&E Supervisor.
- Providing safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of M&E plant and equipment across MET Police South East London sites.
- Carrying out installation of new M&E equipment, including minor new works, refurbishment and capital works replacement programme.
- Investigating, troubleshooting and rectifying defects for all M&E systems and associated plant/components.
- Overseeing/ escorting specialist contractor works as required.
- Proactively identifying defects and faults outside of specialization and escalating accordingly.
- Ensuring prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork.
- Working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with participation in the on‑call rota and out of normal working hours activity.
Who are we looking for?
- Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant level 3 qualifications in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience.
- Must be able to undertake unsupervised non‑routine maintenance and complex repair/installation work.
- Good communication skills, customer‑focused with a proactive, flexible, can‑do approach.
- Must be able to produce technical/incident reports.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
- Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting.
- Driving licence essential.
