Electrical Estimating Engineer – Cheshire – £40k – £55k DOE – Plus Benefits – Leading UK Infrastructure & Engineering Contractor
Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering contractor delivering critical infrastructure solutions across the UK water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear, and food & beverage sectors.
They are now seeking an Electrical Estimating Engineer to join their expanding team in Cheshire. This is a key role supporting the full tendering and estimating process across a range of electrical and EC&I infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong electrical engineering knowledge with experience in estimating, design, or project engineering within industrial or regulated environments. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business offering stability, development, and long-term career progression.
Responsibilities
- Review tender enquiries, develop accurate cost estimates, and support the bid process from initial enquiry through to submission and handover.
- Work closely with engineering, commercial, and client teams to develop technically and commercially robust proposals.
Qualifications
- LV electrical design principles
- MCCs and switchboards
- Cable sizing and selection
- Motor control systemsControl panels and field instrumentation
- Electrical control and protection principles
- Subcontractor and supplier quotation review
- Tender documentation and bid preparation
- Client and stakeholder communication
- CRM systems and bid tracking processes
- Strong analytical and commercial awareness
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
- Confident communicator across engineering and client-facing discussions
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (minimum)
- Degree in Electrical / EC&I Engineering (desirable or working towards)
- Background in electrical engineering, estimating, or project delivery
Experience working within regulated or industrial environments such as water, power, energy, pharmaceuticals, nuclear, oil & gas, or food & beverage would be highly beneficial.
