Consultant in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Consultant Paediatrician to join the Neurodevelopmental Team at The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
As a Consultant, you will be part of a wider paediatric workforce that includes 13 Consultant General Paediatricians and a range of other medical professionals within our fully integrated directorate.
The post is offered as a full‑time position (10 programmed activities). Applications from candidates wishing to job share or work less than full time are welcomed. Scope within the service to tailor specific roles and responsibilities to the successful applicant.
Main Duties
- Provide comprehensive health services for children in Chester and surrounding areas, working with Local Authority partners.
- Collaborate with a broad range of professionals including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Specialist Nurses, Health Visitors, School Nursing teams.
- Maintain relationships with Local Education Authority, Social Care, voluntary sector organisations.
- Collaborate with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and with regional tertiary centre Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Qualifications
- Full GMC registration.
- MBBS / MBCHB / MRCPCH.
- MSc or further qualification in Community Child Health.
- GRID.
Experience
- Wide experience in general paediatrics with specialist knowledge of community child health (CCH).
- Competent in all aspects of CCH including child public health, behavioural paediatrics, safeguarding, including CLA and neurodisability.
- Substantial clinical experience of the health needs of looked after children.
