Solution/Technical Architect – Insurance Architecture
Accenture is recruiting for talented technologists to join the Insurance Architecture team within Accenture’s UK Insurance & Financial Services Industry and Enterprise practice, helping us shape and deliver digital change for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute across all six functional pillars on client engagements, with a focus on Applications, Integration, Data, AI, Cloud and Cyber Security, and grow towards becoming a future pillar specialist.
- Help define and deliver enterprise and solution architecture artefacts (current‑state, target‑state, roadmaps, transition states, integration patterns, capability maps) for clients in Insurance and Financial Services.
- Become familiar with and help enhance industry‑specific reference architecture frameworks, which form a core part of our proposition to clients.
- Shape and deliver discrete, high‑quality outputs on engagements – from data integration designs and automation workflows to cloud strategy artefacts and proof‑of‑concept builds.
- Build credibility with client stakeholders through clear, well‑structured analysis and presentation, and contribute to thought leadership through blogs, brown‑bags and skunkworks projects.
- Bring your own perspective to growing and diversifying the Insurance Architecture team, mentoring junior colleagues and helping us continuously raise the bar.
Learning Opportunities
- Invent and provide solutions to real‑world problems across our Insurance and Financial Services clients, leveraging the latest technologies including GenAI and agentic AI.
- Act as the communication bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring solutions are aligned to true business needs.
- Build deep client relationships and bring together the wider Accenture business to create differentiated offerings and enable the best outcomes for our clients.
- Deliver tangible, transformational change for clients and develop points of view that shape the insurance and financial services industries.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technology roles – ideally with exposure to Financial Services, Insurance or another regulated industry – covering data, application, cloud, integration and security.
- Working knowledge of data architecture concepts (data modelling, integration, governance, visualisation, migration) and tools such as Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent.
- An appreciation of how technology can solve complex business problems and a comfort operating at the intersection of business and technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas visually and adjust detail for different audiences.
- Familiarity with at least one major industry platform (e.g. FNZ, SS&C, Pershing, Guidewire, Sapiens, Duck Creek, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) is highly desirable.
- A genuine desire to improve outcomes for clients and consumers, and willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
Set Yourself Apart
- Passion and enthusiasm for innovating in the insurance and financial services industries, especially through automation, AI/GenAI and modern data platforms.
- Curiosity about the wider Insurance Architecture pillars and a desire to develop depth in one or more.
- Experience of how AI/GenAI can be used within architecture and the wider change process to improve delivery quality and efficiency, and where it could fit within clients’ propositions.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders across business, technology and delivery teams, suppliers and clients, explaining the business rationale for architectural and technology choices as well as delivery impacts.
- A distinctive emerging point of view that you can bring to internal forums and external events.
Benefits
At Accenture, in addition to a competitive basic salary, you will also have an extensive benefits package which includes 30 days’ vacation per year, private medical insurance and 3 extra days’ leave per year for charitable work of your choice.
