Operations Transformation Associate Director – Logistics Industry
As Operations Transformation Associate Director for the Logistics Industry, you will spearhead large‑scale transformation programmes that improve operational performance, enable digital capabilities, and modernise logistics networks. You will combine strategic advisory with hands‑on programme leadership, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable value. Additionally, you will play a key role in business development, building client relationships, defining value propositions, and contributing to the growth of our logistics transformation practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Programme Ownership
- Define the overall transformation strategy and roadmap for clients in the logistics industry – covering digital modernisation, operating‑model change, cost‑to‑serve optimisation, and end‑to‑end supply chain redesign
- Lead programme initiation, planning, execution, and delivery – ensuring initiatives meet scope, time, cost, and quality objectives
- Oversee multiple transformation workstreams (e.g., warehousing, transportation, network design, robotics/automation, last‑mile delivery, customer experience)
- Ensure interdependencies, risks, resources and benefits are identified and managed, with clear governance and reporting
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as primary senior‑level point of contact with logistics clients (C‑suite, senior leadership, business unit heads)
- Build trusted advisory relationships, influencing stakeholder alignment and ensuring buy‑in across business and operational teams
- Facilitate workshops and design sessions to co‑create future‑state models, transformation blueprints, business cases, organisational structures and operating models
- Programme Management Excellence
- Manage resources, budgets and financials for transformation programmes; ensure commercial discipline and profitability
- Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams; foster a high‑performance culture and build internal capability
- Consulting & Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities within the logistics sector – leveraging industry knowledge and client relationships to win new engagements
- Develop proposals, shape service offerings, and support go‑to‑market strategy for the logistics transformation practice
- Represent the firm and contribute to thought leadership – participate in industry forums, speak at events, and share insights about logistics transformation trends
- Understand logistics business dynamics, regulatory environment, compliance and operational constraints to shape realistic, pragmatic transformation solutions
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Proven depth of knowledge of operational dynamics and industry trends in one or more logistics areas (e.g., warehouse transformation, transportation & fleet optimisation, network strategy, supply chain digitalisation, last‑mile & parcel operations, sustainability & ESG)
- Experience using AI/Automation to accelerate key operational processes or optimise ways of working in the above sectors
- Experience developing and leading comprehensive change‑management plans – including communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, training & coaching, resistance management, and adoption tracking
- Previous consulting experience, whether as an independent advisor or in‑house
- Senior‑level operational experience in at least one logistics organisation (employee or consultant/contractor) demonstrating knowledge of the overall operating model
- Track record of generating new business and translating it into commercially viable, operationally deliverable B2B sales
- Ability to work effectively as part of a management/leadership team and to build multidisciplinary teams
