Business Development Manager

Location: Ipswich, Cambridge and surrounding area
About the role
Lead the charge in growing our presence in the Out of Home (OOH) channel for a leading confectionery brand. Own a blank‑canvas territory and build success from scratch.
What you’ll be doing
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across OOH sectors including leisure, healthcare, education, workplace, and defence sites
- Visit sites such as soft play centres, theme parks, universities, canteens and contract caterers to pitch and activate opportunities
- Influence decision‑makers with range advice, merchandising support and display solutions (countertop units, POS)
- Support product launches, sampling and seasonal activations (e.g., Freshers events)
- Use data and insight to advise on visibility, availability, and points of interruption
- Manage your diary to balance prospecting, meetings and activations
- Record activity via tablet and maintain organised client records (Excel/spreadsheets)
What we will offer you
- £27,000 to £30,000 per annum + up to 20% bonus (£32‑36k OTE) + company car
- Working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

What we’re looking for
- A self‑starter with resilience and tenacity, confident in cold‑calling and sourcing new business
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage time, contacts, and pipeline development
- Proven sales experience with success in new business wins (OOH/foodservice experience a plus)
- Confidence with digital tools – Google Sheets, email, tablets, reporting systems
- Full UK manual driving licence for at least one year
