Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically biased)

Location: Yeovil

Salary: £38,518.48 per annum

Shift Pattern: Monday – Thursday 07:00-15:30 | Friday 07:00-12:00

Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance, with a strong focus on fault finding and repair
Diagnose and repair issues on single and three-phase systems, motors, and control equipment
Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics to support effective fault diagnosis
Perform electrical testing, installation, and basic PLC fault finding
Support mechanical repairs, including fabrication, welding (MIG & TIG), and machining when required
Maintain accurate records using CMMS systems
Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with health & safety standards

Recognised Level 3 electrical qualification
Proven electrical fault‑finding, diagnostics, and repair skills, including work on single and three-phase systems
Ability to test, maintain, and repair motors, control panels, and electrical equipmentCompetent in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical diagrams
Experience or working knowledge of PLC fault finding and diagnostics
Strong understanding of electrical systems, control circuits, and industrial automation
Solid mechanical maintenance capability to support plant operations when required
Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Experience using tools, workshop machinery, and maintenance equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
Capability to support mechanical repairs, fabrication, welding, and machining as required
