Technical Skills

• Web Technology Expertise: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is essential.
• Code Debugging: Ability to read, understand, and debug complex, potentially minified code from external partner websites.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Experience with Chrome Developer Tools, API integrations, and investigating error codes.
• Familiarity with Web Standards: Knowledge of RSS feeds, crawling (Googlebot), and authentication protocols (OAuth) is highly desirable.
• Coding Background: While not a pure software engineering role, the hiring manager noted that web developers often perform well in this position.

Experience & Soft Skills

• Professional Experience: Ideally 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar technical support or consulting role.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent soft skills for interacting with external partners (publishers) and internal teams (Product Management, Engineering).
• Proactive “Bias for Action”: A preference for candidates who are “scrappy,” move fast, and focus on getting things done rather than over-planning.

Language Requirement

• Japanese Proficiency: Business-level fluency in Japanese is strongly preferred to support the Japanese market, though not strictly mandatory if an otherwise exceptional technical candidate is found.
