Job Details

• Location: Durham
• Rate of Pay: £16.50 per hour (based on experience).
• Hours: 39 hours per week.
• Monday-Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
• Friday: 07:30 – 12:30

Are you an experienced Metalworker ready to take the lead? We are looking for a skilled Lead Installer to head up a 2-person crew delivering high-quality architectural and structural metalwork.

The Role

Working as part of a small, focused team, you will oversee the installation of fencing, gates, balustrades, and bespoke steelwork across various construction and refurbishment sites. You’ll be the hands‑on lead, ensuring every project meets technical specs and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support your assigned labourer to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
• Use CAD and technical drawings to accurately install architectural metalwork.
• Conduct final checks to maintain high standards and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
• Communicate with site managers and other trades regarding progress.

What You Need

• Proven background in metalwork installation is essential.
• Ability to read drawings and safely operate welding/power tools.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• SMAW (Stick) or TIG welding experience would be ideal.
• CSCS card, SSSTS, PASMA, or IPAF.
