Do you want to help diverse organisations in the ER&I industry to develop and implement effective and efficient operational delivery models? Are you passionate and enthusiastic about operational design and delivery, and thinking creatively to solve client issues? Could you provide insights to help our clients make the right decisions, address key challenges, and identify ways to achieve goals and objectives aligned to their strategy? Have you delivered complex transformation programmes? Can you think on your feet and adapt where necessary?

We design, build, and optimise operations of Energy, Resourcing and Industrials (incl. Construction) (ER&I) Businesses, to bring their biggest ideas to life and help them to unlock the value of AI, digital and sustainability. Working with colleagues across Deloitte, we combine business design, process engineering and cost transformation with data and technology fluency to solve our clients’ biggest challenges, bring the unpredictable and unknown into focus, and turn concepts into reality. Your role will include:

  • Leading client thinking in identifying areas of innovation that encourage new ways of working and enhance the existing cross‑business operating model
  • Acting as part of the management / leadership team to drive new business through building and delivering commercial proposals and pitches
  • Playing a critical role in the leadership, coaching and career development of Deloitte talent
  • Managing Deloitte and client teams to understand their organisations, design and deliver fit‑for‑purpose operating models and successfully realise their strategic intention; developing business cases and identifying and/or delivering sustainable cost savings in collaboration with senior clients
  • Developing a methodical approach to research and guiding a team through analysing large qualitative and quantitative data sets to shape recommendations
  • Evaluating and using emerging and innovative technologies or ways of thinking to shape strategy; design operating models, principles and roadmaps; and deliver transformation
  • Assessing processes, identifying and quantifying inefficiencies and design and implementation of improvements
  • Leading strategic and operational reviews of entire organisations or functions within organisations at a system, organisation, service or functional level
  • Organising insights to define a logical flow to tell a story when presenting recommendations

Industry expertise

  • Proven, deep industry knowledge of the dynamics/ trends in a minimum of one of the following:
    • Energy & Chemicals
    • Power, Utilities & Renewables
    • Mining & Metals
    • Industrial Products & Construction (inc. Real Estate)

Experience leading transformation projects or programmes with a focus on delivering any of the following:

  • Energy transition
  • Physical infrastructure deployment
  • Supply chain transformation / automation
  • Decarbonisation and/or NetZero
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Service delivery and pricing

Technical expertise

  • Proven experience of leading and managing successful teams and engagements on time and to budget, including initial scoping and commercial components
  • Experience in commercial new business development with a track record of developing client relationships and generating B2B sales
  • Experience of engaging with and managing senior business stakeholders (C‑Suite‑1 and above) to support alignment on and delivery of key outcomes
  • Experience of being part of leadership team, responsible for business performance management, thought leadership, and team leadership
  • Proven track record of people management to build trusted teams and support future talent development
  • Experience of an operational role in at least one ERI organisation (either as an employee or as a consultant/contractor), demonstrating knowledge of the overall operating model of that business
  • Previous consulting experience, whether as an independent advisor or in‑house

Additional desirable but not essential experience includes:

  • Experience of use of AI / automation to accelerate operational processes
  • Lean Six‑Sigma or equivalent qualification
  • MBA or equivalent qualification
