Role Title: Regulatory AnalystReports to: Head ofCommercial and RegulationLocation:Belfast Hybrid (2 days from home/3 days in the office)

The RoleAs a Regulatory Analyst within the Commercial and Regulation team, you will contribute to a broad range of regulatory activities. This includes supporting price controls, revenue assessments, regulatory reporting, incentivearrangementsand licence compliance.

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across the organisation and externally with the Utility Regulator, while contributing to projects that underpin SONIs financial and regulatory framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support regulatory projects, including price control implementation and enhancements to regulatory reporting processes.
  • Manage licence compliance activities, including tracking obligations and delivering submissions to the Utility Regulator.
  • Provide regulatory input and support for Single Electricity Market projects and wider organisational initiatives.
  • Develop and implement processes tomonitorand report on organisational performance, including service delivery outcomes and regulatory/budget adherence.
  • Support tariff calculation activities to ensure the organisations financial sustainability.
  • Engage proactively with the Utility Regulator and other stakeholders on regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation toprovideregulatory guidance and ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes,systemsand reporting.
  • Undertakeadditionalresponsibilities as reasonablyrequiredto support team and organisational priorities.

Critical Knowledge,Skillsand ExperienceEssential:

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in business, economics, finance, accountancy,engineeringor a related discipline.
  • Experience developing,implementingand improving business processes.
  • Experience preparing business cases, impactassessmentsor cost-benefit analyses.
  • Strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative), with excellent attention to detail and the ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions aligned with organisationalobjectives.
  • Proficiencyin financial modelling and advanced use of MS Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality outputs to deadlines.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with and influence a range of stakeholders in a constructive and respectful way.

Desirable:

  • Experience using SharePoint Lists, Power BI or Power Automate.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, regulatory body, or energy sector.
  • Knowledge or experience in policy analysis, competitionlawor regulatory economics.
  • Experience working in project-based environments or formal project management experience.
  • Relevant certification or training in financial modelling.
