The London Academy of Excellence Tottenham (LAET), an academic sixth form in the heart of Tottenham, is looking to appoint a new non‑teaching Deputy Head of Year for a September 2026 start. Supported by Tottenham Hotspur and Highgate School, LAET benefits from ample resources to ensure that all students can overcome socio‑economic barriers and flourish. This includes access to extra academic support, but also extends to the wellbeing and welfare of our students, the latter being central to this role.
LAE Tottenham opened in September 2017 and has more than 800 students on roll as of September 2025. It is an academically selective 16‑19 free school harnessing the support of nine independent schools to offer unrivalled educational opportunities to the most ambitious and motivated 16‑19 year olds from Haringey and beyond.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will have exceptional subject knowledge and work within the English department to inspire aspirational and hard‑working students, and support them to achieve outstanding outcomes. We are looking for someone who can offer effective pastoral care to our students whilst reinforcing our strong academic values and who has a proactive nature to support our continual quest for improvement. Our Deputy Heads of Year work closely with our experienced safeguarding team and well‑resourced mental health provision, demonstrating the school’s commitment to student wellbeing.
Candidate Profile
This position is ideally suited to a graduate who may be interested in a career in the charity sector, social justice or education in the longer term. We would offer support to candidates interested in progression into teaching.
Pay is £28,467 actual salary.

The role is 40 hours per week basis and is term‑time plus two weeks.
Start date – start of Autumn Term 2026.
