Hamilton Bradshaw is a highly successful private equity and investment firm with over 25 years of established trading history and an enviable reputation for value creation, growth, and successful exits.

Specialising primarily within the professional services sector, the firm focuses on SME businesses typically generating EBITDA below £10 million. With approximately 22 active portfolio investments and a disciplined investment strategy of completing 1–2 new acquisitions annually, alongside 1–2 successful exits per year, the business continues to enjoy sustained growth and performance.

The Opportunity

We are now seeking an experienced and commercially astute Non-Executive Director to work closely with the Founder and Chief Executive Officer on a strategic advisory basis.

This role will involve approximately 2–3 days per month and offers the opportunity to contribute at board level across a diverse and high-performing investment portfolio.

Key areas of involvement will include:

  • Portfolio performance oversight
  • Strategic guidance to portfolio leadership teams
  • Supporting acquisition evaluations and investment decisions
  • Advising on scaling strategies and operational improvement
  • Assisting with exit preparation and value realisation
  • Providing independent challenge, governance, and commercial insight

Candidate Profile

You will possess:

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Strong commercial judgement and strategic thinking capability
  • Financial literacy with the ability to interpret and challenge financial performance
  • Experience operating at board or executive committee level
  • Credibility, gravitas, and the ability to engage with founders and senior stakeholders

You Will Need To Have

  • Significant senior leadership or board-level experience
  • Exposure to M&A, private equity, consulting, or professional services environments
  • A strong understanding of business scaling and operational excellence
  • Experience working with founder-led businesses and entrepreneurial management teams
  • The ability to challenge constructively while building trusted relationships
  • A high degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
