Job Title: SHEQ Advisor

Location: Omagh

Salary: TBC – 30-40K

Our client is an established civil engineering contractor based in Co. Tyrone and they have an opportunity for a full-time, permanent SHEQ Advisor to join its successful team. The role will involve working across a variety of projects throughout Ireland

Main Duties

  • Ensure all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations; compile reports and ensure compliance is consistently maintained
  • Ensure the completion and regular review of Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Ensure all accidents and near misses are documented, investigated, and that recommended improvements are implemented
  • Ensure that employees, contractors, and site visitors receive site inductions
  • Plan and coordinate SHEQ-related training for employees
  • Maintain and update all relevant SHEQ department administration
  • Assist in developing documentation for the SHEQ Management System to ensure compliance with:

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Health & Safety (experience in Rail or Windfarm projects is beneficial but not essential)
  • NEBOSH (or equivalent) qualification – held for a minimum of 2 years
  • Environmental and/or Quality qualification is advantageous
  • Experience and understanding of implementing ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a solution-focused approach
  • Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office packages

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel and work away from home on a project-by-project basis across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland
  • Must have the right to work in both the UK and Republic of Ireland
  • Full, valid driving licence
