T&K Associates are currently recruiting on behalf of our Client in Ashby-de-la-Zouch for a Wiring Team Leader to join their friendly team on a permanent basis.

We are looking for a hands‑on and driven Wiring Team Leader to support the launch and ongoing delivery of a major new wiring and electro‑mechanical assembly project within the company.

  • £31,200 per annum starting salary

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the day‑to‑day running of the wiring team.
  • Help build and develop a positive, organised and high‑performing production environment.
  • Co‑ordinate activities across kitting, mechanical assembly, wire preparation, wiring and loom assembly, final assembly, inspection and testing, packing and dispatch.
  • Work closely with Wiring Engineering and Operations to improve workflow, build methods and production efficiency.
  • Support production directly when required, including hands‑on assembly and wiring work.
  • Monitor build progress and help remove production blockers quickly.
  • Ensure quality standards and workmanship are maintained throughout the process.
  • Help establish scalable processes and working standards as the department grows.
  • Assist with training and development of operators within the team.
  • Maintain high standards of organisation, housekeeping and communication.
  • Support continuous improvement activities across the project.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous experience leading or supervising within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Hands‑on attitude and willingness to support production activities directly.
  • Ability to manage multiple stages of production simultaneously.
  • Good problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Experience working within fast‑paced production environments.

Desirable

  • Experience within cable assembly, wiring, electro‑mechanical assembly or electronics manufacturing.
  • IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 knowledge or experience.
  • Experience working with production documentation, build packs or ERP systems.
  • Understanding of inspection and testing processes.
