Special Projects Lead – Brand

London, Notting Hill

Competitive depending on experience + performance related bonus

About Us

Simmer is a meal delivery service built on a simple idea: healthy food should taste extraordinary.

Founded by brothers Simmy and Jhai with £10 of ingredients, the business has grown into one of the UK’s most compelling consumer startups and the fastest-growing food business in Europe (Financial Times 1000 List), with tens of thousands of loyal customers.

We’re now a profitable, bootstrapped £100M+ ARR business with a clear ambition: to become the defining brand in healthy eating.

This is a fully founder-led company with no private equity or corporate layers. The founders still run the business, set the standard and are deeply present in the work. For the people that join Simmer, that means operating with real ownership, close to the decision-making, on problems that genuinely move the business.

Now we’re entering the next phase.

We’ve built scale through product quality, speed, performance marketing and founder-led storytelling. Brand now needs to become a force multiplier across the business.

We’re hiring a Special Projects Lead – Brand to help shape what Simmer becomes next. This is a true Brand Lead role sitting at the intersection of brand, growth, customer behaviour and execution.

The Role

Your mission is to help shape what Simmer becomes next. You’ll work directly with the founders to help build a brand that feels coherent, culturally sharp and commercially effective across the entire customer experience.

This is not a traditional brand management role. The challenge is not creating abstract brand theory. The challenge is making a fast-growing founder-led business feel sharper, clearer and more emotionally resonant as it scales. You won’t sit far away from execution writing strategy decks or maintaining guidelines.

Brand at Simmer sits extremely close to:

  • growth
  • retention
  • product
  • customer behaviour
  • founder storytelling
  • commercial performance

We care about:

  • how campaigns impact conversion
  • how storytelling impacts retention
  • how founder content shapes perception
  • how creative quality compounds over time
  • how consistency improves trust and customer quality

You’ll operate at the centre of the business helping shape:

  • brand systems
  • campaigns
  • launches
  • positioning
  • creative direction
  • organic content
  • customer experience
  • founder storytelling
  • product messaging
  • cross-channel coherence

The role sits inside Special Projects – a small, high-leverage group focused on the highest priority opportunities inside the business.

Some days you might be helping shape a major campaign or launch. Other days you might be pressure-testing creative, refining messaging, improving how the brand shows up across channels, or helping connect different teams into one clear narrative.

You’ll work directly with the founders and closely with growth, creative, content and product teams to help make the business feel more culturally relevant, commercially effective and operationally aligned as it scales. There is very little distance between you and the decisions being made.

Key Skills

We’re looking for someone smart, commercially minded and highly proactive with strong taste and high standards. Likely 3–7 years into your career. Already operating at a high level. Still accelerating.

You may currently be:

  • inside a high-growth consumer startup
  • at a strong creative or brand agency
  • operating in a founder-led business
  • in a strategy / creative hybrid role
  • or somewhere less obvious entirely

What matters most is how you think and operate.

The people who tend to thrive at Simmer:

  • move quickly without waiting for permission
  • care deeply about standards
  • think commercially as well as creatively
  • stay calm under pressure
  • communicate clearly and directly
  • take ownership naturally
  • have strong judgement and low ego
  • want to build rather than maintain

You should naturally think about:

  • customer behaviour
  • growth loops
  • retention
  • storytelling
  • cultural relevance
  • why certain brands compound
  • how creative work impacts commercial outcomes

You should be equally comfortable discussing:

  • positioning
  • campaign strategy
  • customer psychology
  • launch sequencing
  • CAC/LTV
  • creator strategy
  • conversion
  • why certain brands win culturally while others don’t

This is a role with real ownership and real influence inside one of the UK’s fastest-growing consumer businesses.

This role would suit someone who wants more surface area, ownership and pace than a traditional brand role allows. For the right person, this is an opportunity to help shape a category-defining consumer brand at the point where it compounds.

If this sounds like the kind of environment you’d thrive in, apply now !
