The Role
HR Consultant is a strategic and operational role responsible for driving people transformation across a global division. They will provide expert support across organisational transformation, restructuring programmes, and employee consultation activity. This includes supporting the Target Operating Model, enhancing standards and development frameworks, and assisting with reward, recognition, and offboarding. The role will partner closely with senior leaders, managers and HR colleagues to design and deliver people‑led change in a compliant, commercially sound and empathetic way.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted HR consultant to leaders on complex transformation and restructuring programmes.
- Support the design and implementation of organisation design, workforce planning and role changes aligned to business strategy.
- Assess people impacts of change and develop pragmatic mitigation plans to support employee wellbeing and engagement during periods of uncertainty.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure change activity is well‑planned, clearly communicated and delivered consistently.
- Support and advise in recruitment activities.
- Strengthen performance management processes, both informal and formal, ensuring manager capability and consistency.
- Support and run both collective and individual consultation meetings, in line with legal requirements and organisational policy.
- Provide expert guidance on consultation planning, timelines, election of representatives, statutory communications and documentation.
- Support leaders through consultation meetings, ensuring a fair, respectful and legally compliant process.
- Advise on redundancy processes including selection methodology, role pooling, alternatives to redundancy and redeployment options.
- Document consultation activity clearly and accurately to mitigate legal and reputational risk.

- Hold a full generalist remit including employee relations, succession, restructuring, as well as other HR projects.
- Comfortable presenting to groups and facilitating workshops and collective consultation.
- Able to present recommendations in a clear compelling format appropriate to the situation.
- Able to work in ambiguous or changing situations.
- Experience of being able to implement projects.
- Proven experience as an HR Consultant / HR Business Partner supporting transformation and restructure activity.
- Strong hands‑on experience of UK individual and collective consultation processes.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law relating to redundancy, consultation and organisational change.
- Experience supporting organisational design and workforce planning initiatives.
- Confident working with senior leaders in complex, sensitive situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into clear guidance.
