As a 2nd Line WINTEL Engineer, you will contribute to this by working with new technologies within a team that values the sharing of ideas to build a better service. Your role will involve reviewing Customer Windows related work requests with quick turn‑around responses for more complete and detailed requirements. Using automation, build images, build documents, work instructions, build and configure Windows Servers (the majority being virtual and hosted on VMware clusters). Builds and racking of physical servers with Customer DC and computer rooms. Update and maintain existing gold build images. Patching and upgrades of Windows servers. Capacity Management Reporting & attending bi‑weekly engineering meetings providing progress updates on outstanding tickets. Ensure server builds adhere to Fujitsu and Customer standards for all areas of work undertaken, attend Customer and Fujitsu sites when required to ensure deliverables are completed within target SLAs and KPIs (i.e. document reviews / system installation). Raise immediately any risks or issues that may impact (a) costs or (b) delivery to timescales or (c) overall solution deployments. Assist in testing activities. The successful applicant may also engage in projects further afield from time to time. Experience in a similar role would be advantageous. You will be working from assigned service desk tickets to investigate, assess and resolve customer and system issues within the timescales laid down in SLAs in accordance with defined procedures and will adhere to all IS Policy documents, including Change & Release, Configuration, and Security. Maintain the security of the network services in accordance with the establishment’s Security Operating Orders and current process documentation.

This role will require you to become security cleared to a high level.

Hours of Work

Support requirements are Mon‑Fri between 07:00 and 19:00. You will cover 37 hours over the week with a typical day from 07:00 to 15:30 or 10:30 to 19:00. There is no weekend working; however overtime may be available, which may include weekends.
