Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Day Shifts

Location: Wetherby, Knaresborough area and A1 proximity

Pay Range: £47,500 – £50,000

Contract Type: Permanent

Industry: Consumer FMCG Manufacturer

Our client is a large multi‑site manufacturer with a global footprint. It is an established site. Training, development, and support are provided on a manufacturing site. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production.
  • Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
  • Conduct planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum.
  • Work with conveyor systems, PLC systems, motors and controls.
  • Lead electrical and instrumentation repair, and work with a CMMS.
  • Diagnose, resolve, and eliminate root causes.
  • Implement minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance.
  • Complete all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in an electrical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering.
  • Manufacturing industry experience in heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered.
  • Routine preventative maintenance and an understanding of a PPM schedule.
  • Ability to find and fix faults quickly and effectively.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous.
  • Fitting, fabricating and welding experience preferred.
  • A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
