Position summary
Our client is seeking experienced investigative professionals to join its team. New hires will be expected to contribute to the following key areas of the business:
- Asset tracing and recovery
- Activist investment research and campaigns
- Long-term corporate strategy
Our client’s customer base consists primarily of investment firms, including equity, debt, and litigation funds, as well as family offices. The firm is regularly engaged by clients or their legal advisers, and also actively pursues its own investigations-led investment opportunities in collaboration with fund clients.
In most projects, our client holds a significant financial interest in the final outcome. Team members who manage or generate projects leading to successful results will share generously in the success fee proceeds. Those looking to expand the firm’s commercial scope beyond its current activities will have broad latitude to do so.
Successful candidates will have
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Comfort operating across jurisdictions worldwide
- The ability to devise creative strategies in unfamiliar situations
- A preference for working in a lean team on ultra-complex, long-term projects
- Experience in multi-disciplinary teams involving multiple firms (lawyers, accountants, investors, etc.)
- Proven experience liaising with in-house counsel and law firms
- Basic familiarity with the legal elements of asset recovery
- Confidence presenting complex ideas to external investment committees
- A “business-first” mindset for investigative work, ensuring profitability and shaping client objectives
- A track record of building and maintaining client relationships from the ground up
- Strong commercial drive and ambition to take ownership of a significant part of the business long term
