Interim Engagement Manager

Fixed term/Secondment (up to 12 months maternity cover) – full time (35 hours a week). Salary: £50,342 a year.

Location: Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, London, E15 2GW, with flexibility to work from home.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of four engagement professionals.
• Oversee major engagement events and programmes such as Disability Pride Month and International Day of Disabled People.
• Build powerful connections with disabled storytellers, influencers, high‑profile supporters and other audiences to grow a movement for disability equality.
• Provide strategic leadership for engagement activity across the organisation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop meaningfully impact‑driven engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong project and programme management skills, demonstrated through complex, cross‑organisational work.
• Experience delivering accessible and inclusive events.
• Confidence in leading and developing a team.
• Passion for social change, storytelling, and challenging attitudes to remove barriers.
• Prior experience working with or in a disability‑related environment is preferred.
• Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
