Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

A well-established Building Services Consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their London office.

This role is suited to an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer with a strong background in HVAC and MEP design within the built environment. Candidates should be Chartered or working towards Chartership with CIBSE.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical building services design across a range of projects
• Carry out HVAC and mechanical design calculations
• Produce specifications, schematics, schedules, and technical reports
• Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance, and energy-efficiency standards
• Lead project coordination meetings and support project delivery
• Mentor and review the work of junior engineers
• Liaise with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary design teams
• Support sustainable and low-carbon building design solutions

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience within a UK Building Services Consultancy
• Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical building systems
• Experience leading mechanical design projects within the built environment
• Proficiency with software such as Hevacomp, IES, and AutoCAD
• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• Strong communication, coordination, and project management skills

Desirable

• Chartered status or working towards Chartership with CIBSE
• Knowledge of low-carbon design, renewable technologies, and BREEAM
• Revit or BIM coordination experience
