Job Title: Customer Service Officer / Security Guard

Rate of Pay: £14.27 per hour

Contract: Permanent

Type of Employment: Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Buchanan Galleries, 220 Buchanan Street, Glasgow, G1 2FF

Valid SIA License Is Essential

Responsibilities

Main Duties – Security

  • Work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment
  • Undertake regular patrols of the site as instructed by Management
  • Carry out duties in accordance with Assignment Instructions issued by Management
  • Comply fully with the Health and Safety Policy of the site
  • Ensure strict compliance with Fire Regulations at all times
  • Ensure compliance with Rules and Regulations of the site at all times
  • Report and log all incidents in the incident log
  • Ensure contractors on site adhere to site procedures for contractor management
  • Maintain a safe environment for visitors
  • Assist with enquiries from the public and retailers
  • Attend and undertake all training specified by management
  • Report hostile reconnaissance and any unusual activity immediately
  • Abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company

Main Duties – Customer Service

  • Prioritise customer welfare and visiting experience, providing excellent service at all times
  • Offer a friendly welcome to every customer during door duties
  • Treat retailers with respect and courtesy, maintaining professional relationships
  • Undertake any training in Customer Service Best Practice when required
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador for the company at all times

Qualifications

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Valid SIA Security Licence and Public Space Surveillance Licence (if required)
  • Reliable, well-presented, with excellent people skills
  • Ability to work in a team or independently under management direction
  • Strong customer service skills, proficient in telephone, email and in-person communication
  • Efficient communication of messages and instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Calm disposition under pressure and able to meet deadlines
  • Confident enthusiastic personality, capable of retailer liaison to improve communication between management and tenants

Desirable

  • Good understanding of local city centre amenities to assist with tourism, retail, accommodation and transport enquiries, and ability to source relevant information quickly and efficiently
