Sun–Sat: 07:00–22:00 (all days).
Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £15.59 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
Minimum guaranteed hours are 16 per week, with the option to work as few as 12 hours if desired.
Responsibilities
- Work in a fast‑paced retail environment, ensuring the store is clean, well‑stocked and exceeds customer expectations.
- Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver each day’s priorities and schedule.
- Provide customer service by listening to shoppers, assisting them to find products, and ensuring a pleasant experience.
- Guide and support colleagues in‑store, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Lead from the front and set a great example for colleagues.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of store performance and assist managers in delivering actions that improve operations.
- Open and close the store, complete duty cover, ensure decisions support safety.
- Be the go‑to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day‑to‑day queries.
- Coordinate store improvements, remove obstacles to service, and uphold health & safety procedures.
- Recognise and celebrate colleagues providing great service to strengthen team morale.
- Provide clear communication to keep the team up to speed on any changes or updates.
- Support managers in coordinating seasonal, community and charity events.
- Build a positive inclusive team atmosphere that encourages everyone’s best work.
- Remain flexible, comfortable taking the lead, taking decisions, and handling change to meet customer and colleague needs.
- Continuously seek ideas and opportunities to improve service for customers, communities, and the planet.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Must be 18 or over.
- Experience in a fast‑paced retail setting preferred.
- Ability to operate store in early or late shifts (before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm) if required.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to lead a team.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
